Authorities in Idaho have confirmed a tragic incident involving the deaths of two individuals found inside a home near Juliaetta. According to the Latah County Sheriff’s Office, a welfare check was conducted around 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at a residence along State Highway 3, south of Juliaetta. Upon entering the home, deputies discovered two deceased individuals identified as Kent Rotchy, 66, and Krysta Rotchy, 65.
Officials stated that the welfare check was initiated after concerns were raised about the well-being of those living at the residence. When deputies arrived and entered the property, they located both individuals inside the home. Emergency response personnel confirmed that both were already deceased at the time they were found.
At this stage of the investigation, law enforcement has reported that there is no evidence of foul play. Authorities have not indicated signs of forced entry, violence, or other immediate indicators of criminal activity. However, they have also emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, and further assessments will be necessary before a final determination can be made regarding the circumstances of their deaths.
The bodies have been referred to the appropriate medical authorities for examination, which will include autopsies and toxicology testing. These procedures are standard in cases where the cause of death is not immediately clear, and they may take time to complete. Officials have not yet released an official cause or manner of death.
